Gross question for my readers

A couple of weeks ago I **twice** stubbed my little toe and split the toenail...vertically (ouch). I have since been using superglue to try to hold it together with mixed results. Today I had to go back to the old bandaid trick, as one side of the nail is snagging on my socks and pulling in the wrong direction.

Is there anything that can be done about this that I haven't tried? Would a pedicurist be able to do anything to help?

I suggested he just let the toenail drop off so that the new nail can grow... but ofcourse he would not listen to his wife.

ow ow ow OW! Dude, when you stub your toe, you don't hold back. Your chaos field is worse than Dickerson's.

I have no advice for you except to ask a doctor...

I *could* just chop off the toe, since it's my favorite one to stub on things. Probably save me a lot of future pain if I did.

Nah. Stubbing the stump would be worse.

Listen to your wife. Let the nail drop off, cover it with a bandage until it grows back. Maybe use some antibiotic topical for keep it from getting infected.

It's still pretty well attached. It just pries up at the front sometimes.

In that case, go with the topical and wrap it in a bandage while you're wearing shoes. Leave it free to air out at night. And don't mess with it.

Yup, I agree with Chris. "Don't mess with it."
